JE Auto forged pistons from JE Pistons are the result of over 75 years of industry leading experience extended to our range of premium forged pistons for Chevrolet Big Block SR20 Headed Engines. JE Pistons are designed for each specific engine and racing application to provide the ultimate combination of durability and performance. From drift track to drag strip, JE Pistons’ performance is proven in victory lane time and time again. Equipped with the following custom level features
- Vertical Gas Ports: Machined gas ports channel combustion pressure behind the top ring for improved cylinder sealing and reduced blow-by under high load. Common in drag racing applications where maximum ring seal is critical.
- Contact Reduction: Reduce the amount of contact area against the cylinder wall when the piston "Rocks over". Contact reduction also serves to disrupt the flame travel into the crevice area causing a reduction in detonation.
- Ultra Groove: Specialty ring groove machining process that provides near perfect groove flatness and surface finish. Tolerances are held to the millionths of an inch.
- Econo Undercrown Milling: Creates a lighter, more durable piston with uniform deck thickness in critical areas, offering excellent value through efficient machining.
- Proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design minimizes friction and power loss with reduced skirt width and saves additional weight with a shorter wrist pin
- Pin Fit: The pin bore is precision honed to attain an exact pin clearance. Clearances typically range from .0003 to .0010 between the wrist pin and pin bore.
- Smooth Crown Finish: Deburs all areas around the valve pocket and dome area, to reduces stress risers and prevent hot spots.
- Forged in the USA using 2618 aluminum, yielding high tensile strength needed for high-demand performance applications
