- Drive type. If your car is all-wheel drive, make sure the part is for all-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive.
- Engine size. For engine parts, make sure the engine size on the product matches your engine.
- Transmission. Manual and automatic cars often take different parts.
- Body style. Sedan or hatch, two-door or four-door, cab and bed length on trucks.

The 1995-2004 Toyota Tacoma defined the modern midsize truck by delivering exceptional durability, with specimens routinely surpassing 300,000 miles on original hardware. It dominated the market with a reputation for precise build quality and high resale value that remains unmatched today.
The premier engine option was the 5VZ-FE, a 3.4-liter dual overhead cam V6. This 24-valve powerplant produced 190 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 220 pound-feet of torque at 3,600 rpm. It featured a cast-iron block and aluminum heads, favored by enthusiasts for its flat torque curve and thermal efficiency.
Built on a steel ladder frame, it utilized an independent double-wishbone front suspension and a leaf-sprung solid rear axle. A five-speed manual transmission paired with a dual-range four-wheel-drive transfer case and an optional locking rear differential, making it exceptionally capable on rough terrain.
Toyota sold over 1.4 million first-generation Tacomas during its nine-year run. Replaced by a larger second-generation platform in 2005, this original truck succeeded the standard Toyota Pickup. Clean 4WD examples command premium prices today, highly prized by overland enthusiasts and collectors.
