- Drive type. If your car is all-wheel drive, make sure the part is for all-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive.
- Engine size. For engine parts, make sure the engine size on the product matches your engine.
- Transmission. Manual and automatic cars often take different parts.
- Body style. Sedan or hatch, two-door or four-door, cab and bed length on trucks.

The 1986-1987 Buick Grand National GNX embarrassed the world’s fastest supercars by dominating the drag strip. With a 4.7-second 0-60 mph acceleration time, this stealthy coupe outpaced the contemporary Porsche 911 Turbo. It remains the ultimate expression of American muscle from the eighties.
Under the hood sits the LC2 engine, a 3.8-liter turbocharged and intercooled V6. This overhead-valve powerplant utilizes sequential fuel injection and a Garrett T3 turbocharger. It officially produces 276 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and a massive 360 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm.
Built on GM’s G-body chassis, the car sends power to the rear wheels via a beefed-up Hydramatic 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission. ASC/McLaren added a unique rear suspension featuring a longitudinal torque bar and Panhard rod, maximizing rear-tire bite for blistering straight-line launches.
Buick built just 547 GNX units, making them highly prized six-figure collector targets today. The model served as the grand finale for the rear-wheel-drive G-body platform, replacing the standard Grand National for one final year before Buick transitioned to the front-wheel-drive Regal in 1988.
