Fitment tips
Fitment can come down to more than year, make and model. Sometimes the sub-model decides, so start with the fitment table below.
- Drive type. If your car is all-wheel drive, make sure the part is for all-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive.
- Engine size. For engine parts, make sure the engine size on the product matches your engine.
- Transmission. Manual and automatic cars often take different parts.
- Body style. Sedan or hatch, two-door or four-door, cab and bed length on trucks.

The 1983-1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS dominated NASCAR superspeedways, securing consecutive manufacturer championships with its wind-tunnel-tested nose. This rear-wheel-drive coupe proved that traditional American V8 muscle could survive in an era of strict federal emissions.
Under the hood sits the L69 High Output engine, a 5.0-liter (305 cubic inch) small-block V8 layout. Fed by a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, this cast-iron powerplant produces 180 horsepower at 4,800 rpm and 240 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm, delivering reliable, low-end grunt.
Built on the full-perimeter G-body frame, the car utilizes Chevy's stiff F41 sport suspension with upgraded anti-roll bars. A four-speed TH200-4R automatic transmission routes power to a 3.73:1 rear axle. This robust setup makes the coupe exceptional at high-speed stability and predictable handling.
Chevrolet built over 180,000 Monte Carlo SS models during its six-year run. Today, it stands as a highly sought-after collector car for G-body enthusiasts. This generation revived the historic SS badge, which had been dormant since 1971, before the front-wheel-drive Lumina eventually replaced it.
