The 2020-2026 Jeep Gladiator redefined its segment as the only body-on-frame pickup with a removable roof, folding windshield, and solid axles. It delivered off-road utility with a class-leading 7,650-pound towing capacity, merging Wrangler trail capability with a five-foot steel cargo bed.
The standard powertrain is Chrysler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (ERB), a 60-degree layout producing 285 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. Buyers could also opt for the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 (EXF), which generated 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of low-end torque.
Built on a stretched 137.3-inch wheelbase frame, it utilizes heavy-duty Dana 44 solid axles and a five-link coil suspension. Power routes through a six-speed manual or ZF eight-speed automatic to a part-time four-wheel-drive system, providing exceptional wheel articulation for rock crawling.
With over 350,000 units built, the Gladiator remains a favorite among overlanders and utility-focused drivers. It filled the midsize truck void left vacant since the Comanche's 1992 retirement. As of 2026, it continues as Jeep's sole open-air truck without a designated successor.
