The 2018-2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk redefined the performance SUV by delivering supercar acceleration in a heavy family hauler. It became the most powerful gasoline SUV of its era, launching from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and clearing the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds.
Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine, internally designated as the Hellcat. This iron-block powerplant produces 707 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. A 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger provides up to 11.6 psi of boost to achieve these peak output figures.
To handle the power, Jeep utilized a heavy-duty TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and a Quadra-Trac on-demand four-wheel-drive system. Bilstein adaptive dampers and massive Brembo brakes anchor the chassis, giving this heavy SUV remarkable high-speed stability and claw-like launch traction.
With roughly 14,000 units produced worldwide, the Trackhawk is highly prized by collectors. It succeeded the naturally aspirated Grand Cherokee SRT as the brand's performance flagship. Because Jeep introduced no direct V8 successor for the WL generation, it remains the ultimate expression of the line.
