The 2010-2012 Lexus LFA redefined supercar acoustics and engine response. It is famous for a 4.8-liter V10 that revved from idle to its 9,000-rpm redline in just 0.6 seconds, a feat so rapid it required an unprecedented digital tachometer because analog needles simply could not keep pace.

At its heart sits the 1LR-GUE, a front-mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V10 developed with Yamaha. This 72-degree engine produces 552 horsepower at 8,700 rpm and 354 pound-feet of torque at 6,800 rpm, utilizing titanium valves to safely sustain its high-revving limit.

The chassis features a carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer monocoque, suspended by double wishbones up front and a multi-link rear. A rear-mounted six-speed single-clutch automated manual transaxle optimizes weight distribution to 48:52, giving the car exceptional high-speed balance.

Lexus built just 500 units, securing its status as a highly coveted blue-chip collector car today. Developed as a bespoke halo project, the LFA did not replace any existing model in the Lexus lineup, and the brand has yet to introduce a direct successor, leaving it a singular, unmatched peak.
