Fitment tips
Fitment can come down to more than year, make and model. Sometimes the sub-model decides, so start with the fitment table below.
- Drive type. If your car is all-wheel drive, make sure the part is for all-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive.
- Engine size. For engine parts, make sure the engine size on the product matches your engine.
- Transmission. Manual and automatic cars often take different parts.
- Body style. Sedan or hatch, two-door or four-door, cab and bed length on trucks.

The second-generation Toyota Tacoma, built from 2005 to 2015, defined the modern midsize truck segment by capturing over fifty percent of its market share. Enthusiasts prize this generation for its unmatched resale value and a reputation for bulletproof reliability over hundreds of thousands of miles.
Under the hood, the workhorse 1GR-FE V6 engine defined the truck's capability. This 4.0-liter, 24-valve DOHC powerplant utilizes variable valve timing to generate 236 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm, providing a flat torque curve ideal for heavy hauling and trail work.
The ladder frame pairs a coil-spring double-wishbone front suspension with a leaf-spring rear. Available with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic, the part-time four-wheel-drive system features a two-speed transfer case. TRD Off-Road trims add a locking rear differential and Bilstein shocks.
Toyota sold over 1.5 million units of this generation in North America. Today, it remains highly sought after by overlanders. Positioned in the model's lineage as the successor to the compact first-generation Tacoma, this platform was eventually replaced by the larger third-generation truck for 2016.
