The 2005-2006 Ford GT redefined the American supercar by delivering a certified 205-mph top speed that embarrassed contemporary European rivals. It proved that world-class mid-engine dynamics and daily-driver reliability could coexist, setting a high benchmark for analog performance.

Power comes from a mid-mounted, all-aluminum 5.4-liter DOHC V8 engine equipped with a Lysholm twin-screw supercharger. This dry-sump powerplant produces 550 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 500 pound-feet of torque at 3,750 rpm, launching the car from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

Underneath, a superplastic-formed aluminum spaceframe pairs with unequal-length double-wishbone suspension and coil-over dampers. Power flows to the rear wheels through a Ricardo six-speed manual gearbox and a helical limited-slip differential, yielding immense mechanical grip and analog control.
