The 1996-2002 Dodge Viper GTS redefined American supercar performance by dominating global endurance racing, securing three consecutive class wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its distinctive "double-bubble" roofline allowed helmet clearance, cementing its status as a purpose-built track weapon.

At its core lies the all-aluminum 8.0-liter odd-fire V10 engine, designated the Phase II SR. This naturally aspirated powerplant produces 450 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 490 lb-ft of torque at 3,700 rpm. Power is delivered linearly, offering relentless acceleration across the rev range.

The chassis utilizes a tubular steel space frame paired with an independent unequal-length double-wishbone suspension. Power flows through a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission to a limited-slip rear differential. This analog setup provides exceptional mechanical grip and high-speed cornering stability.

Dodge produced just over 6,100 GTS coupes, making them highly prized by modern collectors. The GTS coupe replaced the original RT/10 roadster as the brand's flagship performance model before being succeeded by the SRT-10 generation. Today, it remains a benchmark for analog driver engagement.
