Fitment tips
Fitment can come down to more than year, make and model. Sometimes the sub-model decides, so start with the fitment table below.
- Drive type. If your car is all-wheel drive, make sure the part is for all-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive.
- Engine size. For engine parts, make sure the engine size on the product matches your engine.
- Transmission. Manual and automatic cars often take different parts.
- Body style. Sedan or hatch, two-door or four-door, cab and bed length on trucks.

The 1984-1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer defined the luxury 4x4 segment, proving utility could command a premium price. Offering standard leather upholstery, air conditioning, and power options, it dominated the high-end family transport market with a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds.
Most models feature the AMC 360 cubic-inch (5.9-liter) overhead-valve V8 engine. Equipped with a two-barrel Motorcraft carburetor, this cast-iron powerplant produces 144 horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 280 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm, prioritizing low-end grunt over high-speed performance.
Built on a rugged body-on-frame chassis, the wagon utilizes solid Dana 44 axles with semi-elliptic leaf springs front and rear. Power is managed by a Chrysler TorqueFlite A727 three-speed automatic transmission and the Selec-Trac NP229 transfer case, enabling on-the-fly four-wheel drive.
Jeep produced over 100,000 Grand Wagoneers during this final eight-year run. Highly prized by collectors today for its nostalgic utility, this model succeeded the Wagoneer Limited and was ultimately replaced by the unibody Grand Cherokee platform, ending a historic 29-year body-on-frame lineage.
