The 1984-1991 Ferrari Testarossa redefined the high-speed grand tourer, mastering aerodynamic packaging to eliminate the need for a rear wing. Its signature side strakes fed dual rear-mounted radiators, solving cabin heat issues while generating genuine downforce and a top speed of 180 mph.

At its heart lies the Tipo F113 powerplant, a 4.9-liter 180-degree flat-12 engine equipped with four valves per cylinder. This dry-sump unit produces 390 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 361 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm, delivering linear, high-revving power all the way to its 6,800 rpm redline.

Underneath, a tubular steel chassis pairs with unequal-length double wishbones at all four corners, utilizing twin rear dampers for stability. Power goes to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle. This setup yields exceptional high-speed poise and grand touring comfort.

Ferrari built 7,177 examples before replacing it with the 512 TR, having itself succeeded the 512 BBi. Today, collectors prize the model for its analog driving experience, gated shifter, and rising market value, cementing its status as the definitive analog twelve-cylinder driver's car.
