The 1961-1974 Jaguar E-Type redefined sports car performance by offering a genuine 150 mph top speed at a fraction of the cost of contemporary Italian exotics. Developed from Le Mans-winning aerodynamics, its sub-seven-second 0-60 mph sprint made supercar speed accessible to the public.

Early models utilized the XK 3.8-liter dual-overhead-cam inline-six engine, which produced 265 brake horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque. Triple SU HD8 carburetors fed this iron-block, aluminum-head powerplant, ensuring smooth power delivery across the rev range.

Underneath, a steel monocoque tub mated to a tubular front subframe. The sophisticated independent rear suspension featured inboard disc brakes, dual coil springs, and dampers. This setup, paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, delivered exceptional high-speed stability and sharp handling.
